Submit your website
Submitting your site for inclusion in the 4896.net Web Directory is a great way to get exposure for your site. Submission fees are currently FREE.
At this time 4896.net does not accept the following sites:
- Adult/Pornography
- Gambling
- Sites with no original content
- Redirect/mirror/doorway sites
In order to expedite the review of your submission, please read and follow the submission guidelines set forth below.
Choosing a category
One reason many submissions are delayed is because they were submitted to the wrong category. Start at the top category, and work your way down to the most relevant category. Now, before you submit, take a look at other sites listed in that category. Are they similar to yours? If not, you may be in the wrong category. Also, check for more specific categories listed under that category.
Web Pages vs. Websites
One feature that separates 4896.net from other web directories is that 4896.net welcomes individual web pages as well as websites. This concept may be new to many, so let’s illustrate.
A Website:

This is a website. Most website submissions will refer to the index page.
A Webpage
http://www.4896.net/example.html
This is a web page which may be eligible for inclusion in a category dealing with domain names. The first clue indicating its status as a web page is that it is a deeplink. That is to say, it links to a page other than the home page.
A second clue is in that this page alone is relevant to domain names. The website it is attached to would not be eligible for listing in a category dealing with domain names.
Title
Once you’ve determined your site is eligible for listing, find the most relevant category and click on the Add Your Site link.
You will be asked to enter a title for your website or web page. You should list the title the way a user of your website would refer to it.
This is correct:

The title must be the name of the company or the name of the site.
The Description
The description of your website or web page should be as long as possible without exceeding the limit of 200 characters.
The description should objectively describe your website or web page without promotional language or superlatives.
This is correct:

NOTE: Please check your spelling and capitalization. Errors in spelling, or descriptions in ALL CAPS or all lowercase will be rejected.
Suggest a New Category
If your website doesn't fit into any categories, you can always suggest a new category in the Add Your Site form.
